A Cover Letter for the Grant Application Summary
A
cover letter requesting consideration of funding must
accompany your Grant Application Summary and must be
signed by your organizations chief executive officer
or Chairperson of the Board.
The
cover letter must be limited to 250 words or less and
therefore must be as concise as possible.
Elements
of an effective cover letter include any combination
or all of the following:

Provides a one to two sentence overview of
the organization, program or project.

Provides
a one to two sentence description of the problem
or need including a definition of the target
population.

States how many individuals or families are
served or gives an estimate of how many will
be served per year.

Offers outcome statistics on previous program
success rates and/or provides one or two expected
outcome objectives that indicate how the program
will positively impact the target population.

Describes
in one to two sentences how the program is
collaborative, innovative, or impacts systemic
change.
-
Briefly
describes a plan for ongoing sustainability
of the program or project.
